This bright and inviting kitchen remodel gave their family a space to connect.

Water damage and a closed off feel motivated these homeowners to modernize the space and create an open concept kitchen and dining area.

The newly remodeled kitchen has become their favorite hang out spot, creating a place where the family can feel connected and spend quality time together.

Before: Dark colors and a wall separating the kitchen and dining rooms created a closed off feel.

After: An open, bright, inviting room has become the perfect place for family and guests to congregate.

There was mold on the walls, there was water under all the cabinets… there wasn’t an easy fix to that.

“We bought the house and everything was fine… then one day we noticed the floor around the sink was starting to peel up. We didn’t think much of it because it was right by the sink. We kept pulling boards back and the water had gone underneath the whole floor.

What we realized in the course of that was that the water wasn’t actually coming from the sink… water was just freely flowing out of the dishwasher right onto the floor, and then going underneath our floating floor.”

Once that sunk in we realized we really needed to redo the whole kitchen. That turned into “What kind of kitchen do we want?”

We got rid of the wall, added two bars, opened up the dining room so it’s part of the kitchen, and took away all of the isolation… it’s just an excellent living space now.”

It feels new and fresh… it’s actually a place you want to be.

I think one of the best things that they did was a lot of really clear, easy communication.

One of the things that even surprised me a little bit was when we got into things like demo, there was a lot of discussion about how dirty messy and noisy it was going to be, and it was actually none of those things. It was never as bad as they said it might be.

One of the feature pieces was the light over the sink. When we first installed it, it was in a location that didn’t look as good. Nethaniel’s team just looked at it and said “it would look better if we had it like this” so they just want ahead and redid it. It looks so much better.
